Noosa Haven is a waterfront apartment in Noosaville, designed as a weekend retreat for clients who wanted the home to slow them down the moment they walked in. The architecture, by SI.DE Architecture, opened the floor plate fully to the river. The interior brief was to make the materials and the light do the rest of the work.
The kitchen, dining and living sequence is the hero. A curved veined-marble island anchors the room. A zellige splashback runs above a travertine dado that turns the kitchen wall into one continuous warm field. Bifold doors push the entire width of the apartment open to the water, and the living end of the room is pulled toward the view by an oversized paper lantern pendant.
The palette is restrained but rich. Travertine on the floor and the lower walls. European oak joinery and dining chairs. Veined marble for the working surfaces. Linen and cream for the soft furnishings. Nothing competes with the view, and nothing reads as new for the sake of new.
Two rooms take a counterpoint. A deep olive bedroom with a paper lantern over the bed, a recessed travertine bench in the storage wall, and stacked dark-marble side tables. A small powder room in vertical olive zellige with a stone vessel basin and a fluted timber screen above the mirror. Quiet rooms that each hold a single, considered idea.
Noosa Haven was awarded Best Home Renovation Project ($600,000 to $750,000) at the Master Builders Queensland Sunshine Coast Awards 2025.
