Ashgrove is Queenslander country. Pre-1940s timber, quarter-acre lots, the original front-room formality and the back-room afterthought that defines almost every Brisbane Queenslander you walk into. Havana House, the published case study and the home featured in The Design Files Best Before + After 2022, is the reference. The work was about respecting what the building was right about (fluted glass at the front, original timber floorboards) while reworking what no longer served the way the owner lived (the kitchen-living-dining sequence, the storage, the colour).
Full interior design from Studio LaLa is the complete project, delivered by me directly. From $12,000 for a multi-room scope, three to six months end to end.
